In Maine, we’re experiencing record breaking heat and it’s not even the middle of June. We’re so not ready, we don’t even have our airconditioners installed at the Twelve North offices yet. So naturally, we’re sitting here in front of the osilating fan, busting out social media plans, dreaming amount a refreshing beverage.
Our heatwave gift to you…a refreshing watermelon margarita recipe. We aren’t bartenders, but some of us used to be, and you can’t go wrong with a watermelon beverage on a hot day.
Watermelon Margarita Recipe:
1.5 oz Silver Tequila (we prefer Patrón)
1 oz Fresh watermelon juice (you can usually buy at Hananford, but it’s also super easy to make your own)
1 oz Fresh lime juice
1 oz Agave
Mix it up:
- Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake it up!
- Fill rocks glass with ice, and rim with lime juice, give it a spin in sugar or salt.
- Strain contents of cocktail shaker into rocks glass.
- Garnish with a wedge of watermelon and lime.
It will still be 91 degress out, but you’ll be refreshed, even more so if you can sneak away and drink by the pool.
